Tag Thursday - The Summer Book Tag

Hello everyone!

I am back with another Tag Thursday post! This week I decided to do The Summer Book Tag. This tag was created by misskaelyn on YouTube. You can check out her video here.

Basically, there is a set of questions and you select a book that goes along with that question.

1. What book cover makes you think of summer?

For me, the cover of Ask the Passengers by A.S. King makes me think of summer. The way the sun is reflecting in the photo and the colours just remind me of a warm summer night.

2. What book has brightened your day?

I know that Jesse Andrews' book deals with a "dying girl" as shown in the Me and Earl and the Dying Girl title, but it was just a funny, witty book that cheered me up. The book is written as though the main character wrote it and it was a refreshing change of pace that helped this book make me feel better.

3. Find a book cover with yellow on it.

Ta-da! Yellow! I have a few books with yellow on the cover, but I thought I would pick Fixing Delilah by Sarah Ockler because this book just doesn't get the recognition it deserves. It was a great book that I read not too long ago and really enjoyed.

4. What is your favorite summer beach read?

This was a tough one. I don't really do much beach reading, so I just picked a book that I enjoyed and thought wasn't too heavy. I don't own many lighthearted contemporaries, but I did really enjoy Please Ignore Vera Dietz by A.S. King and thought it would be a good book to read again and again.

5. What action book had you running for the ice cream man?

Rebel Belle by Rachel Hawkins is just a great book. I mean first of all the cover is gorgeous. Second of all, the story is so action packed and full of plot twists. It is still a contemporary while still being full of action and some sci-fi/mythological elements.

6. Like a sunburn, what book has left you with a bad and/or painful ending?

Ok, Rainbow, you got some 'splaining to do! I adore  Eleanor and Park but that ending? COME ON! It wasn't that it was a bad book, it just didn't pull things together and is kind of a cliff hanger. There are some rumours going around that she is writing a sequel though, so I guess I can wait for that...

7. Like a sunset, what book gave you the happiest feelings when it ended?

I cannot tell you anything about the ending without spoiling the entire book. All I can say is read Seth Baumgartner's Love Manifesto and you will understand!

8. What is one book or series you hope to read this summer?

I read Cinder by Marissa Meyer a while ago and really enjoyed it. I would love to get my hands on Scarlet and Cress before Fairest and Winter come out!

There you have it! The Summer Book Tag! See you next week for another Tag Thursday!
