Tag Thursday - Bookish Would You Rather

Hi everyone!

I am back with another Tag Thursday (on a Friday!) I was just so busy yesterday, I didn't have a chance to post a Tag Thursday, so hopefully you are ok with this Tag Friday!

Basically, it is just a series of questions and I just have to answer them. Let me know what your choices would be and why!

Lets get started!

Would you rather read only trilogies or only stand alones?

Hmm, this is a hard one. I think that stand alones are great, but every once in a while I enjoy marathoning through a series. Then again, I like to have a stand alone to break up the trilogies a little bit. I think I am going to say stand alones, but fully developed 900 page stand alones.

Would you rather read only female authors or male authors?

Again, another hard question! Okay, I think the only fair way to answer this is to look at like, my top 5 favourite books, and then decide. Hmm, ok I love anything by Rainbow, so 1 point for female, but then I loved Paper Towns and Looking For Alaska by John Green, and I grew up on Roald Dahl books, but then I wouldn't have The Hunger Games or Divergent. I think I am going to have to say only female authors

Would you rather shop for books only at Barnes and Noble or Amazon?

Ok, I am in Canada, so for me, I am just going to read this as shop only in store or online. And without a doubt, I would say online. I'm like addicted to online shopping, and book buying is no different. Not only are the prices better online, but I always feel like I am being judged in a bookstore. Like not from the employees, but like other customers are silently judging me like "Oh, she's getting that book?!" I don't know maybe I'm losing it. Anyways, online = cheaper, easier and no judgemental patrons!

Would you rather all books become movies or TV shows?

In this day and age, one book that is like 300 pages becomes two, 3 hour movies that are so far from the book, its ridiculous. And TV shows are usually so long and drawn out that people are like, what? that wasn't even mentioned in the book. So I'm not the biggest fan of this question. I mean, are we assuming that the movie/TV show is done well? Then I would say TV show. It will last longer, as long as they don't stray from the book. Can we not just take a book, and get some good actors and just read the book, as it is written? Is that so hard to ask for. I get that it is supposed to be an adaptation or is based on the book, but is it really so difficult to just do what is says to do in the book? I don't know much about movie making, but can you not just use the book as the script and scene setup guide?

Would you rather read only 5 pages a day or 5 books a week?

Ha this question was made for me! Most of the time (at least now in the summer) I can read one book a day, so I think that the 5 books a week is the best option for me. And besides, it would be torture to only read 5 pages a day.

Would you rather be a professional reviewer or professional author?

Hmm, another tricky question. See, I feel like I'm not the greatest reviewer, but I think I would be a terrible author. I can write well for like school and essays and stuff, but I couldn't sit down and write a contemporary novel or a whole in depth fantasy series. I guess I would have to go with professional reviewer, however, I would really love to be an editor of books, if someone gave me that option.

Would you rather only reread 20 of your favourite books over and over or read all different books only once?

This one is actually quite easy for me. I'm not huge on re-reading books, I find that I remember what happened, and then I just skim read the book and its just not enjoyable. So I would go with different books once!

Would you rather be a librarian or book seller?

I would definitely be a book seller, I love seeing all the new books, and I would get first dibs on all the new releases!

Would you rather only read your favourite genre or every genre but your favourite?

Another tricky one! I don't know if I have a favourite genre. I mean, I read mostly dystopian and contemporary. Although, I am getting more into fantasy. But I don't think that I live without my contemporaries, so I think I will say only read your favourite genre.

Would you rather only read physical books or ebooks?

I feel like this question is super easy for me. I don't own a Kindle or Kobo or whatever else, and I have only ever read 1 book in the iBooks app on my phone, and that was nice because I didn't have to hold a whole book while I was in bed and it didn't weigh any extra to lug around. But! I love my books. I love the feel of the book in my hand, I like seeing how far I am and I love seeing my bookshelf and seeing all the books that I loved! I guess that means I will be going with physical books then.

There you go! See you next week for another Tag Thursday (hopefully on a Thursday!)
