Monday Reviews (On a Friday!) - Tonight the Streets Are Ours by Leila Sales

Hello everyone!

I am back with another Monday Reviews (on a Friday!). Today, I am reviewing Tonight the Streets Are Ours by Leila Sales. Thanks so much to Raincoast Books for providing me with an e-ARC of this  book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Wow! Where do I even start?

I really liked this book. I felt like the character development of Arden was fantastic, she went from this sheltered golden child, to this outspoken young woman who was able to learn from her experiences.

There were some parts of the story towards the beginning that were a little tricky to understand. The story is told in a very whimsical way, with each chapter. At the beginning, the story starts, then there's backstory, and backstory for the backstory. I think this part made it difficult for me to get a feel for Arden's voice, and I felt like she sounded a little childish because of these backstories.

Eventually I was able to get a better feel for her voice and I began to enjoy the story. When she started reading the blog Tonight the Streets Are Ours, I became almost as engrossed as she was, hoping that we would see more of the blog soon once the chapter ended.

I will say that I was totally not expecting the twist that happened with Peter, I was enjoying his character so much. I don't want to spoil anything so I won't say too much, but I was just really shocked and a little disgusted at what happened.

In the end, I was really happy with how everything worked out.

Overall, I enjoyed this book, and there were lots of great quotes to write in my quote book!
