Ugh.

So I didn't know what to expect from the synopsis of this book. Actually, that's a lie. I thought I was getting a gripping thriller about a girl who saves her kidnapped friend.

WRONG!

This book was about doomsday preppers.

Now, this is not the sort of book I would have picked up normally. And I know why.

Aside from the ridiculous idea of the 'Madagascar Plague' this book had an annoying main character and none of the supporting characters were remotely interesting, except maybe Peter.

I just felt like some of the scenes were written sloppily and could have be changed to make more sense. I really wanted to love this book. I thought it was going to be a mystery of a girl saving the boy she loves from abusive parents or something and I was so psyched for that. Maybe part of my dislike for this book was because I was expecting something so much different. Perhaps the other part was that I just don't like prepper novels. I don't know, its interesting to think about all that you'll need, but I'm kind of the mindset that when the worlds gonna end, there's not much you can do stop it.

I almost DNF'd a couple times, which is why I gave a lower review.

The cover is gorgeous, but don't let it fool you! Unless of course, you enjoy a doomsday novel, then maybe this is the perfect book for you.

I ended up giving this book a 2/5 star rating, almost solely because I was able to finish it. If I DNF'd it, it would have been lower.
