I am back with a little bit of a different blog post this week, instead of talking about a book, I will be talking about some bookish goodies, more specifically, bookish candles!
Now, if you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen me post a few times when I received some candles from The Melting Library and I am so in love with them, I had to share them here on the blog!
What I think makes these candles stand out from other bookish candle brands is the attention to detail. The owner, Raquel, creates some absolutely gorgeous labels for the candles and hand-crafts each and every scent for a specific scene within the book.
Raquel was generous enough to send me two candles, both Throne of Glass inspired; Fae Warrior and Fireheart. Fae Warrior smells like deep woods with a hint of sweet, cleanness, and Fireheart is a floral lemon with a subtle ember after note! I can't get over how good and strong these candles smell. Not too strong where you get a headache but strong enough so you can actually smell the scents used.
I am so in love with these candles! I can't decided which ones to buy for myself! Just last week she released the new Spring scents and I cannot even decide which one is my favourite!
The new Spring collection includes:
- Half-Blood Prince (Harry Potter): a combination of asphodel and wormwood. Don't worry - its actually lily and absinthe!
- Spring Court (A Court of Thorns and Roses): scents of fresh roses, lilies, violets and spring rain. Just what we'd expect Tamlins home to smell like!
- His Calipha (The Wrath and the Dawn): luxurious blend of lilacs, orange blossoms and sensuous sandalwood. Guaranteed to torment Khalid to no end!
- Forbidden Forest (Harry Potter): dark and woodsy combination of stemmy greens, whomping willow blossoms and unicorn blood - which we think might smell like vanilla and amber!
- Central Perk (Friends): a date with friends at your favorite cafe - roasted coffee, caramel and steamed milk! Smelly Cat may be playing in the background.
- Bite and Sting (The Winner's Trilogy): sweet and florally blend of black currant tea, jasmine and oranges from the Trajan groves!
And if any of these don't suit you, her Etsy shop has over 25 more varieties to choose from, including scents inspired by The Lord of the Rings, Shatter Me, The Great Gatsby, and Game of Thrones. Plus, if you have a specific book in mind that you want in candle form, and she doesn't already make it, she loves to do custom orders!
I seriously cannot recommend these candles enough. Raquel is such as sweetheart and she makes some amazing products. Plus, each candle has a cute little dust cover with a quote from the book on it!
I'm telling you, its the little things that matter and Raquel makes sure every little detail is taken care of!
If you want to check out Raquel's Etsy store, you can find her here. She's also on Instagram here and has some amazing photos!
Thanks so much to Raquel and The Melting Library for sending me some candles in exchange for promotion and review. All opinions expressed in this blog post are my own, however.
