I am back with another Monday Reviews! This week, I am reviewing Kate Evangelista's No Love Allowed. I received this book from Raincoast Books for review, all opinions are my own.
I really enjoyed this book. It had vibes of a modern day Gatsby with a dash of Abbi Glines' Sea Breeze series. It had the glitz and glam of the 20s, but the rich guy-poor girl concept of Sea Breeze.
Basically, this is a story about a rich guy Caleb, who's bitter about love because of his mother's death and his parents love wrecked his father after she died, and a girl from the other side of the tracks, Didi.
I really liked the storyline and the characters in this story. I liked how even at the various events, Didi didn't try to be anyone she wasn't. She was brutally honest and she told it like it was. She didn't pretend to be a famous, rich person. She was herself.
The ending seemed a little rudimentary but I still enjoyed the book overall.
I definitely recommend this if you are looking for a love story that's a little bit different, and has a great swoony guy! Plus, this is the first of a series of companion novels with more swoon-worth guys!!
This book is released April 19, 2016!
